In memory of Lisa Flaxman, local mom & founder of musiKids

I'm saddened to share the news that community leader, Chevy Chase mom, and founder/president of the wildly popular musiKids program Lisa Flaxman has died after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Lisa leaves behind her three children and husband, as well as a strong legacy as an advocate for kids and a patron of the local arts.

To honor Lisa's life and continue her work, you can contribute to the Lisa J. Flaxman MusiKares Fund for the Celebration of the Performing Arts, through the Montgomery County Community Fund. The funding will be used to support performing arts celebrations, elementary school artist-in-residence programs, public school performances, and scholarships for local students to attend performing arts institutions or to gain access to private arts instruction.
