Weekend Watch: Dragon Boat Races (for real this time) & the Herndon Festival

Filed Under:

Good news: The Dragon Boat Races have been rescheduled for this weekend, and will be held Saturday and Sunday on the Potomac at the Georgetown/Kennedy Center waterfront. A fun spectator sport for little ones (and their grownups)!

Also... Out in VA it's the Annual Herndon Festival, today through Sunday. Very family-oriented, with children's carnival rides and games, live music and kids' entertainers, hands-on arts and crafts, a model train exhibit, and fireworks on Saturday night. Parking is said to be almost nonexistent, so be sure to read carefully about the shuttle service from the nearby high school and shopping center parking lots.
