Weekend Watch: Free Chinese New Year Fun

Filed Under:

Xin Nian Hao! Celebrate the Chinese New Year with your little ones at this family-friendly event - my favorite pick for the weekend:

Sunday at 6 p.m. it's a FREE, one-hour song-and-dance extravaganza celebrating the Chinese New Year in the Grand Foyer of The Kennedy Center. Peformances by the Children's Chorus of Greater Washington, the Washington Jin Ling Chinese Dancing Academy, and the Jasmin Guzheng Academy.

Also, heads up: The traditional Chinese New Year Parade in DC's (sadly dwindling) Chinatown is set for February 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. on H St. NW, between 6th and 8th Sts. Also free, of course.

Happy Year of the Pig!
