Free Parenting Forum in Bethesda: "Learning in the Preschool Years"

Filed Under:

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and are enjoying this beautiful weather!

Next Thursday, November 30, at 7:30 p.m., a FREE forum open to the public in Bethesda: "Learning in the Preschool Years: How Play Supports Your Child's Development" will be presented at Concord-St. Andrew's Co-Op Nursery School in the Church Social Hall (5910 Goldsboro Rd.)

An RSVP is required. Just send an email to: register (at) csacns (dot) com.

Here's a description of the forum:

Research shows that preschool-aged children learn best through play. Through play, children:
* learn language
* learn how to get along with others
* solve problems
* express their creativity
* have the freedom to take risks without the fear of failure

How does play do all these things? Please join us for a parent education forum devoted to understanding how play is vital to your child's social, emotional, and intellectual development. As parents, how can we support our preschoolers in this pivotal stage in their lives?

This seminar will be led by Edie Mossberg, M.A., who has over 30 years of experience with children and families in the fields of learning disabilities and early childhood education. A former nursery school teacher and director, she now provides in-service training for teachers and provides consultation to schools and to parents.
