A Helping Hand for Fairfax County's Neediest Schoolchildren

Filed Under:

I recently learned about a wonderful program that focuses on the neediest of needy children attending Fairfax County schools in suburban Virginia. And I'm spreading the word in hopes that some of my readers can help make a difference.

Now in its 20th year, "Kristi's Christmas All Year 'Round" is a program administered by the West Springfield, VA Rotary Foundation. Here are ways you can help:

If you can make a donation of cash or items from the organization's "wish list" (school supplies, books, clothing, holiday gifts, and other needs), check out the organization's website and then contact the program via volunteer Karen Brown, 703.644.1364, or karen (at) karenbrownrealtor (dot) com.

If you teach or work with families in Fairfax County, and you know of a child who is in need of school supplies, books to read, or other basics (such as a gift at the holidays), please share the info. with your principal or administrator, who should contact the program for assistance: Karen Brown, at 703.644.1364 or karen (at) karenbrownrealtor (dot) com.

Thanks to local mama and educator Tracey Kretzer for sharing the details of this program with me!
